Revlog deploys collection infrastructure that returns Africa's used batteries to service as energy storage, while recovering critical materials—lithium, nickel, cobalt, and copper—to build one of the continent's first recycled sources of these materials.

How collection works
We collect on scheduled routes, so nothing sits waiting.
What we accept
Every chemistry, from a button cell to a bus pack.
Contamination is the biggest problem in battery collection, so every container carries bilingual signage in English and Swahili showing exactly what belongs inside, with a QR code to the full list. Different chemistries travel on different streams, which is what makes broad collection safe.

Lead-acid and nickel cadmium are handled on separate streams so they never contaminate lithium processing. Talk to us before sending them. If a battery is swollen, leaking or hot, do not move it. Leave the area and call 999 or 112.
Safety
Every battery we move is treated as if it could catch fire, because it can.
Checked before loading
Drivers carry temperature guns and check every battery against set limits. Anything outside them does not travel.
Packed to standard
Cells travel in certified fire-safe drums, packed in fire sand so nothing can short against anything else.
Equipped on the road
Every vehicle carries lithium-rated extinguishers and a containment plan, and every driver is trained to use them.
Monitored in store
Batteries are held spaced apart under heat detection and surveillance, with sand containment within reach.

Energy storage · Phase 3
Revlog Energy designs, integrates and deploys storage systems at the lowest cost, using repurposed batteries.
A battery retired from a motorbike still holds most of its power. Tested and rebuilt, it can run a business, a phone mast or a mini-grid for another decade. This is phase three of our plan, and the collections we run today are what make it possible.

Critical materials · Phase 5
Revlog recycles end-of-life batteries to recover lithium, nickel, cobalt and copper, building one of Africa's first sources of these critical materials.
These metals do not wear out. Every kilogram recovered is a kilogram Africa does not have to mine, ship and import back. This is phase four, and we work with licensed processors until then.
